National Church Residences’ Tonia Biggs and Tracy Kraft, who oversee procurement and selection of materials for their developments, say they set a high bar for the quality of the carpeting and flooring inside each living and recreation space. In their continuing-care retirement communities or permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless or disabled seniors, you will find Patcraft carpet and resilient flooring.

The nationwide organization has clear guidelines for the interior design of its properties, and the Patcraft products fit into that concept very well. “National Church Residences Housing Department has a standard that we created at the time we selected Patcraft for our flooring needs,” Tonia and Tracy said. “The flooring is replaced on an as-needed basis either at move-out/move-in timeframe when cleaning has not been affected.”

The organization was launched in 1961 by the Reverend John R. Glenn and four Ohio Presbyterian churches, and now operates 330 retirement communities in 28 states and Puerto Rico. Constantly expanding and renovating properties, they needed a dependable partner to provide top-quality flooring solutions. So the procurement team sent out a request for proposal to several manufacturers.

“The flooring partners were selected based on multiple performance and design criteria,” they recalled. “As products were submitted, National Church Residences selected outside interior designers to help us during the RFP process and evaluated and ranked the proposed products. Patcraft was chosen because they have products designed to handle the flooring requirements we had requested.”

Some of the factors that make Patcraft flooring perfect for National Church Residences’ properties include durability, style, price, warranty, and sustainability. National Church Residences cites being sound managers of resources with solid, ethical business practices as a key part of their mission. Patcraft’s commitment to recyclability appealed to them

Patcraft demonstrated that it would be a great partnership for their organization, they said. “Patcraft was very detailed and attentive to National Church Residences needs.” Their sales representative also “was instrumental in continued contact, spearheading the documentation and discovery of the processes that were imperative for this project.”

At any National Church Residences property, you will find a variety of activities happening at almost any time. The carpet and resilient flooring needs to hold up to extensive foot traffic, food spills, rolling carts and more. These full-service living spaces have busy laundry facilities, and offer resident care, nursing services and physical therapy.

Tonia and Tracy met often with their Patcraft sales representative to overcome a few early challenges, and now work individually to handle ongoing projects as needed. As they acquire and renovate existing properties or build new ones to allow more seniors to live comfortable, active lives, National Church Residences plans to use Patcraft carpet and resilient, they said. “We have never been disappointed in partnering with Patcraft for our flooring needs.”
