Transform Workshop Atlanta

Sustainable design, inspiration and collaboration emerge at Transform Workshop with Patcraft and Design Milk.

We know the importance of immersive design experiences that push the limits in our industry and allow designers the chance to question, create and reimagine the possibilities of creative solutions within today’s evolving built environment.

We recently implemented this opporuntiy through our second Transform Workshop hosted in Atlanta, Georgia, in collaboration with Design Milk

The 2019 Transform Workshop brought together six select designers from across the United States for discussions and activities around sustainable design as well as insights from experts on sustainable buildings and communities in Atlanta.

The workshop included a visit to the renowned Ponce City Market (a LEED mixed- use development), the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Museum of Design Atlanta, The Beltline and various other sustainable and design inspired venues. We were able to embrace many inspiring conversations around wellness within and how exploring design from the inside out can enhance the world we live in as well as ways we can connect the dots between beauty, biophilia and the bigger picture of design.

We heard from several sustainability and design experts local to Atlanta, including Jimmy Mitchell of Skanska, Matthew Finn of Cognitive Design, Laura Flushche, Executive Director at MODA, Ryan Gravel, founder and president of Sixpitch, and Vanessa Lira from Atlanta City Studio. These influential speakers sparked inspiring and creative conversations with our attendees and led to transformative conversations about hot topics in our industry. We gathered insights and feedback around key trends such as social equity, people driven design and material transparency.

"After this time spent together, we are moving forward with a rejuvenated sense of fostering creativity, wellness and community within our respective design professions and with inside- out knowledge to enhace our world," says Shannon Cochran / Patcraft V.P. Creative & Design.
