Inspired by the way nature interacts with man-made structures, Organic Interruption is a collection that embraces linear patterns disrupted by organic textures.
As our designer explored urban surroundings, she was inspired by structures and surfaces overrun with nature. Timeworn cracks in concrete overrun with moss. Walls discolored with lichen. Sidewalks broken with shoots of green. Using traditional block printing, she created linear patterns with organic imperfections, replicating the precision of the man-made that had been interrupted by the abundant beauty of nature.
The result is a collection of two, 18” x 36” commercial modular flooring styles that incorporate a variety of colors and textural patterns to transform space. And with 36 available colorways, Organic Interruption is ideal for school colors, branding or wayfinding.
Sometimes, the transformation of space begins with a feeling, an urge, a mistake that turns to purpose. The idea of craft is in the exploration. To lead with adventure and imagination. To embrace the fails, the scars, the pieces that don’t quite fit. To believe that there is always room for something new. Unravel. Break. Crush. Stitch. Re-imagine.
